1. So, Koda Kumi's "Cherry Girl" is one of those songs which make me want to break out in a dance, and I have never found myself taking it too seriously. This morning, while on the bus, I listened to it again on shuffle, and was really shocked when I started hearing all these orgasmic sounds, followed by the very provocative line of "I can feel you baby, inside, now". Then I looked back at the title again, and everything clicked. Oh my, Kumi. You have learnt the art of appropriate titles at last.

2. 8 Days has, once again, proven itself to be a life bible of some sort for me. While browsing through this week's "Ah Lian issue", I found myself rapidly ticking off the list of Ah Lian/Ah Hua's typical characteristics. OMG - I am a closet ah lian - wait, or maybe everyone else besides me knew that already? Whatever it is, I have come to the horrid realisation that if I had ended up at the friendly neighbourhood school next door, I would have likely become the Queen Lian.

3. Talk to me about the Olympics and I am going to strangle you. [Wave your hand please if you're anti-Olympic like me!] I mean, sure, I understand that people love to challenge their bodies and all and try to break world records, and the Olympics is really the pinnacle of their sporting life, but I'm just really irritated by how the whole Olympic thing has gone from a pure sporting event to something that's heavily political and economical. Or maybe I'm just a closet geek (oh my, imagine a closet lian geek!) who prefers people to place more emphasis on intellectual achievements like finding a cure for cancer or something.

4. As I found out recently, it's byebye to Lang Arts in VIP. It's a really shocking revelation, considering how much the VIPers identify with LA as the defining point about VIP. Or perhaps it is just how we have come to link LA to Mr Koh, and Mr Koh to IP. Whatever it is, it was LA that made me fall in love with language all over again, that made it possible for me to do so much better in GP than I would probably have without it. So come Friday's VITA, I am going to do all I can to challenge the teachers' explanations for taking it off the curriculum.
