I like to give inanimate objects genders, like how Donut is female, and how my computer is male. In the same vein of thought, I decided 2008 is male. It might sound a little strange to you, or actually very strange to you, but I felt that in 2008, the areas which I progressed in most were mainly masculine. It's quite hard to explain, and it's probably very subjective. So 2008 could very well be female to you.

Okay whatever it is, I'm sure 2008 was a very important year to most of us, what with the A Levels and all. I think ten years later, I will look back and think of it as the year I mugged the amount I did the previous 11 years within 2 months.

Hmmm, it's getting quite hard to blog, I'm self-censoring quite a bit here.

In terms of happiness, I must say that 2008 was only slightly happier than 2007, and sadder than 2006. Somehow I feel like I've been spacing out most of the year. I think I was just too affected by the constant comparisons with other people and insecurities on my own part.

Made lots of new friends this year too, and became so much closer to others. I think this is one of my greatest achievements. But on the flipside, I also lost quite a lot friends in the form of acquaintances because I honestly couldn't be bothered with people I don't even like anymore.

Which makes me wonder whether I should have joined council after all. I was honestly not very happy in council, mainly due to personality clashes and all. But then I suppose I could have handled things differently so this is a double-edged sword kind of issue.

Alright, so the real NYR2009
1) Spend more quality me-time
2) Stop procrastinating/making last minute decisions
3) Keep in contact with everyone
4) Grow up
5) Love myself more

Yes, we should all keep looking forward although we should stop every now and then and think about the past. So hopefully 2009 will be a happy, happy year since it signifies a brand new start for all of us! :D Happy New Year y'all and have a great year ahead!

A shout-out to Jovena here for the lovely Rilakkuma goodies from Japan <3 Much love. And now the beans and taugays are in Hong Kong, lucky them! Hopefully our own trip planning will work out, eventually. WUYUE we've been talking about this since super long ago! And duckpigs, TIOMAN! Hahaha.

Hope your weekend has been good, mine was super hectic but fun. Anyway I can't believe it but I'm starting work on Monday! :o And there's still a lot of people I haven't seen this holiday, like ANDREA CHOW! :( Luckily it's only for a month. After that I think I want to try out a job as a waitress or salesgirl or something, just for the fun of it. :D

I'm feeling inspired to redecorate my room into some really cutesy theme. Don't say I'm act cute OK, we're only young once and you can't possibly be doing that when you're like, 40 years old!

Am off to catch up on the TV I missed the past few days. And here thus ends the life of a slacker and the beginning of life as a pseudo office lady.

With Rilakkuma wishing you a merry christmas, albeit with strange English, it's bound to be a good one! :D Thank you to all who sent me cards, gave me presents, or simply sent a well-wishing message. Your love is felt! (:

The next thing I'm looking forward to is Isetan Private Sale on 26th! Needs to stock up on some stuff. And of course the S33 party at Darren's after. And then another party on 27th at Darren's again. Oh well, at least it's themed, so Ima have fun dressing up and camwhoring!

Speaking of which, I have 561 photos on FB! Gosh. :o

High time for an update!

Met up with the duckpigs (and dianne for like one hour) for the first time since school ended (a darn freaking long time ago) to settle gifts for people. Pretty fruitful trip I must say. And monday night was a major pang seh for me because I was too lazy to drag myself to Daryl's house. Sorry people! >_>

New Year Resolutions 2009
1) Stop being so lazy!
2) Stop pang seh-ing people; tis extremely anti-social behaviour ):
to be continued.

Anyway, so I've started tutoring, and boy, both of my students are so alike! They both just want to keep chatting and chatting and totally lack attention span. At least they concentrate pretty well for like 10 seconds before they drift off to another island. But I think it's really fun, and I suppose I won't mind being a teacher after all :D

Which reminds me once again of how Chang Siang Wen has moved somewhere near me. *shudders*

OK so people, since 2008's ending really soon, do be reminded of the following:
1) Clear all debts because it's bad luck to bring them on to the next year!
2) Thank all the people you need to before you forget and
3) Start thinking about those New Year Resolutions!

I've decided that NYRs are important after all.

OK so NYRs 2009
3) Get started on all those things I was supposed to but still haven't gotten around to doing
4) Achieve maximum level in Pets Society

Can't think of anything else for now! Right, I need to put up at least one proper post before the year's up! Shall do that this weekend. Ciaoz!

I just had an incredible LOL moment, because I found my secondary one English journal lying in a cupboard. Like, hello, that was 6 years ago! Amazingly, though, I found myself writing the same way I still do today, that is, favouring lots of sentence breaks and using descriptive words usually unacceptable in formal speech. It's quite funny!

And zomg, I started telling white lies from such a young age. Like, I wrote about going to some church celebration when I am pretty sure that at sec one, I was quite the atheist and only started going to church properly (for no more than 2 months, mind you) in sec 2. Yes, I'm quite the atheist again.

So I was rummaging through my cupboard because I was hoping to find out some remnants from primary school as I'm going to start tutoring my neighbour's kid soon. The only problem I have is not knowing what's the maximum I can go since primary was like, ages ago. :( Anyhow, I think it will be quite fun because the kid's cute and he likes my fat rabbits.

I should really start writing down a list of the things I need to do online before I come on next time. I have short term memory lah! OK, whatever, I'm gonna go watch some anime now! :D

OK, so Jiayi's feeling extremely angry right now so she's trying to count from 1 to 10 to calm herself down. Problem is she's probably counted a hundred times now and it's not exactly working its charms.

How is it supposed to work anyway? Sure, you forget about it as you count, but once you finish counting the anger consumes you once more and you feel like killing every single person in the vicinity. And how are we supposed to force ourselves to start?

/end of rant.

I think Dickens is pretty darn amazing, so far he's the only author who manages to make me feel reaaaally drowsy after reading every couple of pages. Even Shakespeares doesn't have that effect on me!

And...the TV has died on us. Waiting for the new one to come, so we're using this really small one in place of it. Which really sucks! Luckily I'm part of the youtube generation, you kind of get immune to things like lousy quality and dead pixels and all.

Yeah, I'm a dork. :D

I'm finally going to start baking like I planned to this holidays! Top of my list shall be my all-time favourite : CHIZU KEKI aka cheesecake! <3

Obviously I'm gonna go for a simple recipe, since I'm quite a noob when it comes to baking from scratch. Shall post up photos then (if the cake looks presentable, of course)

But for now I must get started on the christmas cards, like really. Realised there's a whole lot of cards to write. Anyway if you want to hint to me for a christmas card just drop me a tag! This makes things easier for me too if you were secretly not on my list of people to send one to :p

I believe my rilakkuma craze is starting to die down. :( non! I must start loving rilakkuma and korilakkuma and kiiroi tori again! I just wish I could fly to osaka and visit the rilakkuma store.

Mango sale is pretty disappointing this time round. =(

Trying to act mysterious.

The goldfish here are much larger than those in Singapore! Must be the clean water and fresh air.
I miss my long hair!!! I think it's the longest I've ever let my hair grow, but it was getting a little messy so I went to the hairdresser's and let her cut it anyway she wanted, and it ended up too short for me to get used to immediately. Oh well.

Anyway, so xinrong told me of a new way to help MILK, so now we're setting up a booth on the 20th selling our stuff! :D Hopefully we will at least break even lah hahaha. Anyone interested to join us at the booth? Still looking for more people to share the cost. And our table position's really good, it's like right next to the entrance! Whoopee.

Our quick getaway at Langkawi was really fun! <3>

Sunday, 7 December 2008

Got this in my email from angel liesel, doubt they sent it to the 07 batch since we're not really in the alumni, so I'm putting it up here!

Yay, I feel Christmas in the air! Time to get started on all the cards and all :D And begging for a new phone as a gift. LG ICE CREAM is such love <3 Anyway, I'm feeling really tired right now, after semi-volunteering for MILK (I can't bear to call it volunteering because we were really just forcing people to donate). I wish there was a more fun way to volunteer my services than doing such things as flag days and all, but I suppose this kind of help is more relevant to the organisations.

The past week's basically been a blur for me, I won't be able to remember what I've been doing if not for the photos! Can't believe prom was only 5 days ago! Anyway it's so much fun looking at prom photos on facebook; it's astonishing how some people look so extremely different. I guess makeup really works miracles.
I think I look awful with makeup on though >_> And anyway, being the kind of person who starts getting ready 15 minutes before I have to leave the house, I doubt I will ever use it save for necessary situations.
Class gatherings are finally starting to be planned. Catching up with V11 was great fun, I think we're all so comfortable with one another it feels like a big family. And thank you once again to Nick Lee for hosting!
Can't wait to meet up with S33 (who's planning actually?), 2H and 6-1! I'm so out of touch with planning such stuffs, to think I used to be the one always planning. I swear I'm never doing it again; so much hassle!

So prom crashing was ultimately successful, even better than we hoped for! Thank you so much to S35 for lending us the hotel room to while the time away with! :D What was originally supposed to be a short 2-hour stop over became a full-fledged 5 hour camwhoring session (minus the boring bits). But I realise most of the photos are in other people's cameras! :( Hopefully they upload it up sometime soon.

I'm superb-ly proud of myself for surviving in 3-inch heels, seems like I can upgrade to the deadly 4-inch wedges soon.

There were quite a lot of LMAO moments, like how Yanwen and I were so flustered in the lift when it refused to go to the 4th level. It reminded me of this horror movie in which the lift couldn't go to the 4th floor because it was cursed or something. So I was really freaked out. Anyway, I found out later from Yuhan it was simply because there was no fourth floor in that tower. >_>

So I'm feeling a bit emo now cos Stephie's gone and may well never be back again! :( At least she will become my postman in Japan. Imagine all the lovely Rilakkuma stuff I can have! :D:D

My right eyelid's twitching madly. Uh-oh.

Monday, 1 December 2008

For the past three days, everytime I take a bath, the shampoo's been getting into my left eye. OMG, it's darn annoying. The more careful I am, the more likely the shampoo gets into my eye. It's murphy's law I tell you! :( Luckily my shampoo's quite gentle otherwise I reckon I would have become blind long ago!

Anyway, those of you who told me koizora was good, I want to kill you! Because the plot was shallow, predictable, and the acting was quite terrible. At least it gave us quite a number of good laughs.

And I really want to go to Greece now! Or at least a nice beach getaway. With hot guys. HAHAHA.
