I like to give inanimate objects genders, like how Donut is female, and how my computer is male. In the same vein of thought, I decided 2008 is male. It might sound a little strange to you, or actually very strange to you, but I felt that in 2008, the areas which I progressed in most were mainly masculine. It's quite hard to explain, and it's probably very subjective. So 2008 could very well be female to you.
Okay whatever it is, I'm sure 2008 was a very important year to most of us, what with the A Levels and all. I think ten years later, I will look back and think of it as the year I mugged the amount I did the previous 11 years within 2 months.
Hmmm, it's getting quite hard to blog, I'm self-censoring quite a bit here.
In terms of happiness, I must say that 2008 was only slightly happier than 2007, and sadder than 2006. Somehow I feel like I've been spacing out most of the year. I think I was just too affected by the constant comparisons with other people and insecurities on my own part.
Made lots of new friends this year too, and became so much closer to others. I think this is one of my greatest achievements. But on the flipside, I also lost quite a lot friends in the form of acquaintances because I honestly couldn't be bothered with people I don't even like anymore.
Which makes me wonder whether I should have joined council after all. I was honestly not very happy in council, mainly due to personality clashes and all. But then I suppose I could have handled things differently so this is a double-edged sword kind of issue.
Alright, so the real NYR2009
1) Spend more quality me-time
2) Stop procrastinating/making last minute decisions
3) Keep in contact with everyone
4) Grow up
5) Love myself more
Yes, we should all keep looking forward although we should stop every now and then and think about the past. So hopefully 2009 will be a happy, happy year since it signifies a brand new start for all of us! :D Happy New Year y'all and have a great year ahead!
